Bethy Butler- President

Bethy and her husband Mark live in Nashville, Tennessee, where they attend Otter Creek Church and she teaches at Lipscomb University. Bethy first worked in Haiti when consulting with an NGO in establishing a school near Cap-Haitien, and during that time she met Hunter and Jillian, loving everything she learned about Emmaus House (and her new friends!). She is excited to serve on the board and work with those interested in learning about intercultural service work and global missions, especially in Haiti!

Ed Wilson- Vice President

Ed has known about the work of Emmaus House since its inception. He first traveled to Haiti in 2016 to help in the process of finding land to build homes for the youth. With a degree in architectural engineering and his experience in construction, Ed will use his knowledge to help see the development project to completion. Ed and his wife, Loree, have two daughters and live in Three Forks, Montana where Ed is a self-employed engineer working on projects throughout the United States and Canada and Loree is a school teacher.

Susan Bryner - Secretary

Susan was born and raised in Utah. She married her high school sweetheart in 2005 and they adopted their daughter in 2013.   Susan was introduced to Haiti in 2011 during a short-term mission trip to the CHCH.  Since she returned to the states, she has been using her talents and former business relationships to help Emmaus House with the quarterly newsletter and happily serving on the Board since 2014 as Secretary.

Adrienne Weaver- Treasurer

Adrienne Weaver has been traveling to Haiti since 1992. Over time she has been involved with several areas of work in Haiti. The majority of her time has been spent leading or serving medical missions which provide mobile clinics to local communities in Northern Haiti. Over the last 12 years Adrienne also been working on nutrition and educational projects throughout Haiti. Adrienne resides in Johnson City, Tennessee where she has been an accountant at her family's firm since 1998. Adrienne currently has her MBA and is working to complete her CPA and Master of Accountancy. Adrienne will be serving Emmaus House as treasurer. 

Miranda Hudson

Miranda is an Elementary Physical Education teacher from Springdale, Arkansas and has been teaching since 2010. She attends Mt. Comfort church of Christ and serves with the Samaritan Community Center through their stores. In the past she spent several years being a mentor at the Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter. Miranda had her first trip to Haiti in 2009 and has worked in the Cap-Haitien area on short term trips since then. Miranda has been working with Emmaus House since its startup. She is excited about the spiritual growth she has seen in the youth since they've moved to Emmaus House and loves the way their servant leadership skills are being developed through the program.

Brian Way

Brian Way lives in Johnson City, TN with his loving wife Missie.  They have 4 biological children and 2 adopted children.  He has been blessed with the opportunity to serve in Haiti on numerous medical mission trips and is excited to be on the Board of Emmaus House.  He believes in the mission of transitioning young adults as they age out of orphanages and get launched into becoming Haitian leaders.  Brian enjoys time with his wonderful family, serving at his medical practice, and volunteering at a local program for the poor/homeless. Brian is also an elder at his congregation.

Lisa Vaughn

Lisa Vaughn lives in Fairfax, Virginia, is a mother of two, and a wife to her husband of 11 years, Dusty Vaughn.  Lisa received her Master of Public Administration degree from the University of North Texas in 2008 with a specialty in Nonprofit Administration, and has a Bachelor in Social Work degree from Abilene Christian University.  Both Lisa and Dusty have served internationally and have been continually impressed by the way Emmaus House works to meet the unique needs of its students.  Lisa is excited have the opportunity to support the tremendous efforts of the students and staff of Emmaus House.
