Independence House Program Support

The Independence Houses are extensions of the residential homes on Emmaus House’s campus. The purpose of these houses is to aid youth in mastering independence skills under the protection and supervision of Emmaus House. Being a resident of Independence is a privilege and must be earned with hard work, a commitment to the program, and trustworthiness. 

There will be two Independence Houses on campus- one for male residents and one for female residents. Each house will have capacity for up to 6 residents at a time. Youth will live independent of house parents, but will have weekly check-ins with the Social Worker overseeing the houses. 

Youth in the Independence Houses will work together to manage the homes - managing budgets, cooking meals, and sharing responsibilities to keep the houses clean.
