Emmaus House is a nonprofit that exists to transition orphaned youth into independent living in Haiti. Emmaus House uses a holistic approach to heal, equip, and, empower young adults in Cap-Haitien. We believe youth are the future of Haiti, and work to show orphaned youth how to contribute meaningfully to their Haitian communities. Statement of faith

We believe that there is one God, creator, and sustainer of all things. God reveals Godself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, eternally One in every way. We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God, and it is our final authority for all matters of belief and life. We believe in salvation from sins through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe in the abundant life both now and eternally through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. All Emmaus House staff and board members uphold these beliefs and we instruct our youth in the ways of godly living. 

Job summary

Emmaus House is looking for a part-time Administrative Coordinator to join what will be a four-person stateside team. This job can be done remotely. The Coordinator is the core support role for all events and activities at Emmaus House. They are a public-facing professional who is invested in the nonprofit community and who has strong communication skills, work ethic, and a can-do attitude.

The Coordinator supports and reports to the Executive Director of Emmaus House, who will conduct an annual performance review. Specific tasks will vary greatly throughout the year and as special projects evolve or develop. 

Primary responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for the Administrative Coordinator include:

  • Administrative support

  • Donor relations

  • Fundraising 

  • Marketing and Media

  • Volunteer Management

Qualifications and skills


  • Ability to work most hours between 9am EST and 3pm EST with ability to work outside those hours for special projects, events, meetings, etc. 

  • Time management skills

  • Strong independent working stills

  • Values team collaboration

  • Attention to detail and organization skills

  • Donor-facing communication

  • Innovation mindset

  • Experience with administrative software, such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google Drive

  • Administrative writing and editing skills

  • Understanding of nonprofit work

  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness

  • Access to technology to support responsibilities of the job (i.e. laptop, internet, smartphone)

  • Ability to travel if needed for fundraising and development, depending on employee's location

  • Adherence to the EH Statement of Faith (see above)


  • Project mangament 

  • Leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring 

  • Presentation skills

  • Graphic design and/or social media marketing

  • Prior knowledge of and/or experience with Emmaus House

  • Prior experience in Haiti

Salary and benefits

This is an hourly position with a 25 hours/week commitment starting January 01, 2024. Salary will be based on education and experience.
